Lounge/ dining room (No.1) 35sqm

Large lounge/dining area with views of the hamlet and surrounding countryside and the internal landscaped garden with secure perimeter. Suitably furnished with person friendly armchairs and dining furniture, fireplace, television, aesthetically pleasing artwork and decoration. Service users have direct access to our landscaped outdoor gardens via patio doors which have been created via best practice guidelines on appropriate indoor and outdoor spaces opening access contributes towards mental and physical wellbeing. There is also dedicated space to an outdoor smoking area if required.

Storage

There is storage within personal living space with separate facilities for safekeeping of money and valuables on behalf of the service user. There is secure storage for records, cleaning materials, reserve linen and bedding and clinical equipment.

Lounge/ dining room (No.2) 25sqm

Smaller lounge/dining area with views of the hamlet and direct access to outdoor garden and secure courtyard. Television and person friendly furniture and fittings are catered for throughout the lounge/dining area.

Bedrooms 20sqm, ensuite 4.6-4.9sqm

Each bedroom has single occupancy and ensuite which exceeds standard design. Seven bedrooms are designed to have direct access to south facing landscaped gardens via patio doors from their personal living space, again with a person friendly wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside locker, armchair and profiling bed. Signage is incorporated throughout the room to aid in way finding. The en-suite has motioned sensored light to reduce confusion and also has a shower with a service user friendly shower chair and colour contrasting grab rails. The en-suite also consists of a lockable vanity unit to store toiletries. Towels and bedlinen are provided and laundered on site at no extra cost.

Quiet/relaxation/reflection room 15sqm

A small lounge where a therapeutic approach may be used to instil calm. Has direct access through patio doors to a smaller carefully and creatively designed garden to help people if experiencing distress.

Kitchen

Separate catering facilities and equipment complying with Food Safety and Hygiene Legislation. Separate cooking areas to accommodate specific cultural or religious catering needs.

Laundry

Located in non-resident area the laundry operates a dirty to clean workflow and complies with infection prevention and control measures.

8 single occupancy apartments

In addition to 12 single occupancy ensuite bedrooms there are 8 single occupancy apartments. The sqm of the apartments are 56sqm for 6 and 52sqm for 2.

About the apartments

Each apartment has a living and dining area, bedroom, toilet and shower facility, and even though there is supported access to all areas of the Home and gardens, there is also an opportunity for the service user to not leave their apartment if they choose and all facilities will be brought to them e.g meals, laundry and activities.

Safety and care

Each person accommodated in an apartment will have access to a Registered Nurse and care staff and a staff station is positioned in the corridor specifically for service users accommodating apartments in addition to nurse call system. Discrete vision panels are installed and may be used to enhance privacy and dignity and safety of a service user requiring observation without intrusion and risk.

Make it your own

Bespoke arrangements for preferred furniture and fittings, small kitchen dinette and other preferences for personal living space in an apartment can be submitted to the Management team for consideration.

Staff Room

There is one staff room strategically positioned to enable staff rest and also may be used to support service users if required with direct observation and direct access to an enclosed south facing landscaped garden. This area can also be used for meetings and training.

Courtyard

Enclosed south facing landscaped courtyard, suitably furnished with garden chairs, pot plants and garden ornaments. Internal courtyard with pathways and relaxation areas. The gardens offer views of the hamlet and the countryside. The gardens can be personalised for individual use if required.

Hydrotherapy Bathroom 16sqm

There is provision of a hydrotherapy bath to help service users improve relieve stress, instil calm and help with natural pain relief relating to musculoskeletal relaxation.

We can arrange for Residents to engage in Social Activities, Hobbies, Leisure Interests and attend Events.

Person centred programme of activities for all of our service users.

We employ a full-time events/activity coordinator to devise and implement planned, individualised, person centred programme of activities for all of our service users. The activity coordinator will meet regularly with everyone to offer choice and to listen to suggestions that will complement the activities programme. The activity coordinator will utilise all of the home’s facilities and in particular the many special features such as the sensory gardens and reflection room, rehabilitation room.
The Activity Assistants will assist the co-ordinator in delivering meaningful activities. A wheelchair friendly vehicle is available to facilitate outings into the surrounding community for shopping trips, personal appointments, dining out, religious services and other external functions. Religious observance will be enhanced by the regular visits of local priests and clergy from all denominations. The activity co-ordinator also has a close relationship with the occupational health care practitioners enabling service users to become involved in meaningful activities on a daily basis.
